Fashion Bloggers Are Making $3 Million a Year

It's never been a better time to be in the personal blog business. WWD reports that fashion bloggers are making five times more per Instagram post than they did just a year ago, racking up fees of $5,000 to $25,000 per sponsored image. The most popular bloggers are using posts and several other revenue streams to bring in $1 to $3 million a year.

In addition to Instagram, bloggers are also collecting money from affiliate marketing arrangements — meaning bloggers earn money for every click their sponsored posts drive — appearances, and corporate partnerships or collaborations. And the money is only flowing so freely because brands are getting results from bloggers.

Brands like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and ShopStyle all have success stories. Nordstrom saw 2014's holiday sales increase $1 million after a promotion from Pink Peonies. Neiman Marcus hosted in-store events with bloggers that drove almost 150,000 social interactions. ShopStyle's partnership with bloggers increased sales by $8 million, 315% more than the year before, according to WWD.

Profits for these web personalities reached even higher heights in 2015. Kristina Bazan, used her 2.2 million Instagram followers as a launching pad to net an unprecedented seven-figure contract with L'Oréal late last year. Chiara Ferragni of the Blonde Salad reportedly made $7.5 million alone from her footwear collection, the Chiara Ferragni Collection.
