10 years later, Twitter still isn't close to making money

Technology moves at a breakneck pace. The social networking site is now the go to place for following breaking news events in real time. New hardware, software and services can beet their demise rather quickly.

It's unclear whether Twitter can ever reach enough customers to succeed. Holy cow - have we really experienced a decade of Tweets?

Although the first tweet was actually sent on the 21 March 2006 many of us probably didn't start using the social network until several years later.
